DSG Gearbox Tuning
Transform the way your VAG vehicle responds, own an Audi, SEAT, Skoda, or Volkswagen then this is for you!

We tune DSG (direct-shift gearbox) for Audi, SEAT, Skoda, and VW.

The engine’s torque limiter/s are tuned as part of our ECU remap, however as your vehicle is equipped with a DSG gearbox we’d recommend having this tuned at the same time as this also has inbuilt torque limiters that can prevent the full benefits of the tuned engine being realized.

Actually, we’d prefer not to do one without the other, simply because the engine and gearbox can also feel out of sync, unfortunately not all DSG gearboxes are tuneable and often we don’t know until we arrive on the day so we can see the exact TCU that’s fitted.

Through tuning the DSG control unit we are able to release the extra torque produced from your tuned engine whilst still ensuring the stability and capability of all mechanical moving hardware within the DSG transmission.

The shift response can be reduced by up to 20% providing a smoother gear-to-gear transition, meaning a reduction of unnecessary clutch slip under full load acceleration protecting your clutch from premature failure.

With the reduced shift times you will also benefit from improved paddle-reaction-time by up to 40% in Sport mode.

The car is awesome now, so much smoother and faster gear changes!

FAQ

Will I shorten the life of my transmission?
None of the setups will have any general detrimental effect on the lifetime of transmission components. Not on the TCU, nor on the shafts or clutches. Keep in mind, that automatic transmissions are highly complicated units, with a few hundred components inside. Some of these components are designed to wear out (like clutches) through making use of them. Your driving style and proper maintenance have the biggest impact on the lifetime of transmission components.

• Always let your transmission warm up on each drive before applying heavy throttle. You will notice some amount of slip in the warmup phase, which is intended to heat up the oil inside. Your transmission needs about the same time to heat up as your engine oil.
• Don’t “pump-up” your vehicle on standing starts with brake/throttle applied at the same time.
• Flush/change your transmission oil regularly. (approx. every 50k – 75k miles) BMW for example does not want you to do it, but ZF wants you to. Trust ZF, who have built this transmission.

Do I need to do a run-in-phase?
We do recommend around 50-75 miles of driving without wide open throttle, with varying speed, load scenarios and shifts, so the transmission can adapt to the new software as fast as possible, shift quality can suffer in the first few hundred miles, don’t overstress your transmission during this adaption phase.
